Achievements
Since David was elected to Glasgow City Council in 2007, he has worked hard all year round on local issues in Pollokshields and is actively campaigning in the community to make it an even greater place to live, work, and raise a family.
David was elected to represent and, quite simply, to improve Pollokshields so it's cleaner, greener and safer. Everyday this is what he aims to achieve.
Cleaner
- Improve the local environment spoiled by litter and vandalism.
- Clean-up the railway embankments and back lanes.
- Campaign for better cleansing and recycling services.
Greener
- Protect green spaces from development and preserve our conservation areas.
- Enhance our local parks and play areas.
- Provide greater access to public transport in Pollokshields.
Safer
- Tackle speeding drivers, double parking, anti-social behaviour and crime.
- Fix broken roads, pavements and street lights - and removing unnecessary street furniture.
- Install CCTV cameras in Shawlands town centre.
There's much more we could say but we hope this demonstrates how David has fought hard for a cleaner, greener and safer Pollokshields. David has also organised or actively supported campaigns on local issues.
