Councillor Ade Aibinu

Councillor for Victoria Park

Ade Aibinu is the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Councillor for Victoria Park (Ward 12) and a pharmacologist by training. He has a BSc (Hons) in pharmacology, MRes in Drug Delivery systems and is a doctoral level researcher in the field of type 2 diabetes. Outwith research, he sits on the Young Pharmacologists Advisory Group of the British Pharmacological Society and until recently, Membership and Awards Committee in London. Here, he reviews applications for awards, develops science engagement materials and helps to organise academic symposia.

As a local councillor, he is the deputy leader of the Scottish Conservative group at Glasgow City Council and also the financial services spokesperson. Since 2017 when he was elected, Ade has sat on the Health and Social Care Partnership Integration Joint Board, Operational Performance and Delivery Scrutiny Committee and currently leads budget discussions for the Scottish Conservative group.
