Thomas Kerr is the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Councillor for Shettleston, the community he calls home. He was elected for the Shettleston Ward in Glasgow's East End in 2017 and took over the Leadership of the Glasgow Conservative Group in 2019 after serving as Deputy for 2 years.
He sits on a number of committees including the City Administration Committee, the Neighbourhoods Housing and Public Realm Committee, the City Property Board, Glasgow’s Licensing Board and is Vice-Chair of the Glasgow International Strategy Board.
Thomas has a keen interest in development, Glasgow's economy and business and shadows Glasgow City Councils Department for Regeneration Services. Having first joined the Conservatives at age 14, he stood for the party in the 2016 Scottish Parliament elections for Shettleston taking the Conservative vote up 6.9% and then for the snap UK Parliamentary election for Glasgow East where he further increased the vote by 12.8%. Thomas has a passion for the East End having grown up and went to school in the ward he now represents He is proud of the achievements he has made for the East End of Glasgow, showing that only by electing a true local champion will you better things for your community.
Having been elected at 20 and becoming Group Leader of the Glasgow Conservatives earlier in 2019 his passions include championing young people, fighting for social justice and offering a fresh start for Glasgow’s forgotten corner. In his spare time he likes to spend time with family and friends, enjoys swimming and spoiling his little sister Zoe.
